SUNDAY, JANUARY 18
DAY 1: NASHUA to MERRIMACK

Total Daily Mileage: 8.0 mi
Estimated Walk Time: 2 Hours, 40 Minutes
Starting Point: Nashua City Hall with the possibility of transporting walkers from the Exit 8 Park & Ride in Nashua
Route: North on Daniel Webster Hwy towards Main Street, continue to Concord St., then turn right on US-3 North. 
End Point: Merrimack Library, Merrimack, NH

  • 8:00 AM: PARK at Nashua Exit 8 Park & Ride, 72 North Southwood Dr in Nashua, for shuttles to City Hall
  • 9:00 AM: MEET at the Nashua City Hall, 229 Main Street in Nashua
     
  • 9:30 AM: DEPART on walk from Nashua City Hall
     
  • 12:00 PM: LUNCH at Common Man Restaurant, 304 Daniel Webster Hwy in Merrimack, before walking final 2 miles

  • 2:00 PM: PRESENTATION by Zephyr Teachout, Author of Corruption in America at Merrimack Library, 470 Daniel Webster Hwy in Merrimack
  • 3:00 PM: TRAINING on Bird-Dogging the Presidential Candidates at the Merrimack Library
     
  • 5:00 PM: DEPART Merrimack Library for Nashua Unitarian Church, 58 Lowell St in Nashua
  • 5:30 PM: DINNER Nashua Community Supper at Nashua Unitarian Church
  • 7:00 PM: DEPART Nashua Unitarian Church for homestays in Nashua

 


MONDAY, JANUARY 19
DAY 2 - MERRIMACK to MANCHESTER

Starting Point: Merrimack Library, Merrimack, NH
Ending Point: St George Orthodox Cathedral, Manchester, NH
Route:  North on State Rte 3, turn right at Brown Ave, Continue onto Perimeter Rd., Continue onto S Willow St.,Turn right onto S Maple St, Turn right onto Hanover St, turn left onto Kenney St., then turn right onto Hanover St. 

  • 8:00 AM: Breakfast at homestays in Nashua
  • 9:00 AM: MEET outside Merrimack Library, 470 Daniel Webster Hwy in Merrimack
     
  • 9:30 AM: DEPART from Merrimack Library
     
  • 12:00 PM: LUNCH on the road and outreach visit to Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester
  • 2:00 PM: Community Potluck at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 650 Hanover St in Manchester
     
  • 3:00 PM: MLK EVENT at St. George Cathedral in Manchester - Community Celebration for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This event is free and open to all; More information can be found at www.mlknh.org
  • 5:30 PM: DEPART MLK event for Faith Baptist Church, 53 Mammoth Road in Manchester

TUESDAY, JANUARY 20
DAY 3: MANCHESTER to PEMBROKE

Starting Point: Manchester City Hall, Manchester, NH
Ending Point: American Legion, Pembroke, NH
Route: West on Hanover St towards Merrimack St, right onto Elm St, right onto Webster St, slight left onto Hooksett Rd., slight right onto NH-28 S/US-3, then left onto Pleasant St., continue onto S. Main St, and turn right onto Glass St. 

  • 7:00 AM: BREAKFAST at Faith Baptist Church, 53 Mammoth Road in Manchester
     
  • 8:00 AM: DEPART Faith Baptist Church for Manchester City Hall, 1 City Hall Plaza, Manchester

  • 8:30 AM: MEET Day Walkers and RALLY in front of Manchester City Hall
  • 9:00 AM: DEPART on Walk from Manchester City Hall
  • 12:00 PM: EVENT: "Go Granny D" play with Barbara Bates Smith and Jeff Sebens at the Hooksett Library, 31 Mount Saint Mary's Way in Hooksett
  • 3:00 PM: END WALK and Debrief outside American Legion, 3 Glass St in Pembroke
  • 3:30 PM: DEPART American Legion by carpool for Southern NH University in Manchester

DAY 4 - PEMBROKE to CONCORD

Starting Point: American Legion, Pembroke NH
Ending Point: Capitol Center for the Arts, 44 South Main St., Concord, NH
Route: Head right on Main St., then turn left onto Broadway and continue onto US-3 N/Pembroke St. Stay on US-3 N, then take a left onto Manchester St., continue onto Water St, then turn left onto Pleasant St.  

  • 7:00 AM: BREAKFAST at Faith Baptist Church in Manchester
  • 7:30 AM: DEPART Faith Baptist Church by carpool for American Legion, 3 Glass St in Pembroke
  • 8:30 AM: MEET Day Walkers at American Legion in Pembroke to begin walk
