The People’s Freedom March, President’s Day (February 20th)
State House Plaza, 3:00-6:00pm
A group of local grassroots organizations will host a Presidents Day event including information tables, a march, and speakers in Concord on Monday, February 20 to defend rights and freedoms that are under attack.
The event will begin at the State House at 3:00 PM with information tables from participating groups. We will march at 4:00 PM and end with a rally and speakers back at the State House plaza, 107 North Main Street, at 5:00 PM. Scheduled speakers include: Devon Chaffee of the ACLU NH, Alex Stone, high school student speaking about LGBTQ equality, Reverend Eric Jackson, President of the Manchester NAACP, Unit #2069, and Glenn Brackett, President of the NH AFL-CIO.
“The event is intended to celebrate our American rights and freedoms,” say the organizers, who add that “it will be fun and suitable for families,” The organizations include United Progressives of NH, NH Unites for Humanity, Open Democracy and America 2.0.
“‘We, The People’ are more powerful than any one president,” says Willow Pfahler of United Progressives New Hampshire.
This President’s Day rally will give New Hampshire residents and organizations the opportunity to call attention to the American freedoms that resonate the most with them.
